This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Wahpeton North Dakota.
The gentleman wears a longer coat probably called a frock coat. The woman wears a light colored gown with dark ribbon trim and holds a small bouquet of flowers.
Thiel's Art Gallery was in business in the 1880's in Duluth Minnesota.
Sharp looking dude. Kind of reminds me of Remington Steele.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see all the various styles for wedding apparel. I thought light colors for wedding gowns were unusual during that time--well, at least for everyday people. Queen Victoria excepted, of course ;)
