Photo Number 1879

This is a photo from Craig’s Collection.
Mrs Robert Craigs
The photographer was Sweet in the Cramer Block in North Baltimore.
The lady in the photo is Mrs. Robert Gable.
I will guess that this photo was taken in about 1890-1895 before 1888
Thanks for stopping by.

Update from Iggy:

This might be Lydia Gable, the wife of Robert Gable both born about 1818. Robert was a "Tavern Keeper."
 Lydia was buried on 02/08/1888.
  Robert was buried on 12/21/1896.

Find A Grave Memorial# 34425501 says Lydia was buried on 02/08/1888.
Find A Grave Memorial# 34425503 says Robert was buried on 12/21/1896.

I think the photographer may have been William H. Sweet. If so, he was born in 1820-ish and by 1880 would have been getting on in years.

  2. I think I found the photographer: J. A. Sweet, North Baltimore, Ohio
The photo has an emblem next to 'Sweet' with the letters A and S and if you look closely you can discover the letter J as well.

Here is a link to another photo of him, where the initials are written out on the bottom of the photo: http://wanderlustandlipstick.com/blogs/globalsnapshots/2013/07/17/passion-for-vintage-ephemera/

At FindAGrave, there is a James A. Sweet, *30. Jan. 1854 in Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio +30. Aug.1924 in North Baltimore, Wood County, Ohio. It could be him. Memorial# 59004515
