This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Usually pages turning/scroll means that the individual has died.
Carl Overland was a photographer in Minnesota throughout the 1890’s. Exactly when he was in Belgrade is a mystery.
The gold beveled edges of the cabinet card suggest that it is from the years 1885 to 1892.

I had never seen that type of setting before. Interesting that that is used symbolically of those who have died. Makes sense, though.
