Louise and Frank Stang Wedding Back

I heard from Kelly.  Frank and Louise Stang are her boyfriends Great Grandparents.  I mailed the photo.

Hi :) I just received the photo in the mail. Absolutely amazing. I showed my boyfriend. We don't know anything about them. He said he might ask his grandmother about them and see if she knows anything. His grandmother, Anna Magdaline Gallus, married Frank and Louise's son Melvin. Melvin died back in 1992. If I find out anything about Frank and Louise I will for sure let you know. Thanks again! :)

It is from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.

Boy would I like to have lunch there!  Three kinds of cakes, homemade buns in a enamel bowl and assorted salads and maybe potato chips in a Peach  Lusterwear bowl.  I see on the clock that it is 11:45 and almost time for lunch.  I bet this was a Sunday.  I am going to find a 1956 calendar and see if I am right.  Yes.. indeed it was a Sunday.  .  Back in 1956 in the Midwest..family get togethers were always on Sunday. Everyone worked all week, shopped and fixed their hair on Saturday and went to church and someplace for lunch on Sunday afternoon..and if you had an anniversary or a birthday to celebrate..everyone came to your house.

To Aunt Mollie and Uncle Harry From Bereyle  Bercycle Claudia Streeter Taken Xmas 1912 age 2 months 4 da Weight 14 Ibs.  Height 25 inches.

Perhaps the name is Buryle or Bercyle?  Birthdate around October 21 1912..

Do you notice anything about this photo?  They are both smiling.  I enjoyed seeing all the trim on the dress and that a high necked fancy lace under shirt was worn under the gown.

Thanks for stopping by.  Do come again:)

Update from Iggy:
Bercyle Claudia Cheney nee' Streeter was born to William Edward and Helen Marguerite Streeter nee' Schmidt on October 21, 1912 and died in Sep 1985 in Volga, Brookings, South Dakota.

Bercycle was married twice. She married Theodore Andrew Everson on March 7, 1933.

The Streeter family appears to have moved to Los Angeles in the 1930s.

Aunt Mollie and Uncle Harry are most likely Helen's sister and husband.

Cabinet Card Father and Son DL Antiques

The photographer is N. A. Preston Eau Claire, Wis.

A frail looking child and his/her father.  I will guess it is a boy?  What do you think?   Just like in the Walt Disney Movies..I wonder where is the Mama?  You can see a posing stand behind the chair.

The gentleman has rough looking but gentle hands..he works out of doors for sure.  The top button of his jacket is buttoned  that makes me think this photo could have ben taken in the early 1880’s.  His trousers appear to have somewhat of a striped pattern that was popular in the 1880’s.  Wisconsin became a State in 1848..so that is of no help.

CdV Lady with weird hair Brainerd antiques

Often times ladies would collect the hair from their hair brushes.  With that hair they would make “rats” .. rats were a kind of a hair piece that could be pinned into your hair where ever you wanted fuller hair.  I think this lady may have had a rat in the front of her hair..to make it stand up.  She appears to have a braid at the back of her head.

Her dress has somewhat poufy sleeves, has a high collar with white trim and a brooch.  This photo is most likely from the early 1890’s.

Update from Iggy:
There are a lot of Gloria Foley's - but I believe this one might be the daughter of Palmer A. and Borghild Foley of De Lamere, Hall Township, Sargent, North Dakota, born in 1934.

From what I can tell, Gloria attended the nearby Valley City State University, graduating in 1954.

She taught in a school in Minot, ND for at least a short while. She married an Edward Mortenson of Malta, Montana on August 19, 1965.

According to the college paper - she attended a reunion in 2004. As far as I can tell, Gloria lives in Malta, Montana today.

Frothy looking Dress DL Antiques 1896-1899

This young lady wears her hair in an up do with the bulk of her hair gathered into a twist or a knot at the top of her head.  Her hair appears to be quite curly especially in the front..either natural or by the use of curling irons.

She wears a beautiful frothy looking gown with huge sleeves.

The photographer was Martin F. Heinzelman of Owatonna, Minn.  He was in Owatonna during the years 1896 to 1899.

The daughter does not appear in the 1900 US census. Clara's find-a-grave memorial tells us, the daughter was Henrietta E. Probst (1885 - 1895) who must have died shortly after this photo was taken.

Frank Edward was known as Frank only in the 1900 US Census and F. Edward in most other records.
