Photo Number 966

This is a photo from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.

Combine summer 1967 DL Antiques

A combine in a grain field in the summer of 1967.

It looks like a field in Minnesota or North Dakota to me.

Thanks for stopping by.  Do come again:)

  1. 67 is about the time my brother was graduating from high school. Because of him, I can remember all the songs on the radio during that time!

  2. hhmmmm, wheat fields always seem to be BIG, but up in NE Oregon, the wheat fields are BIG and ROLLING hills --- but they always have that stark beauty of this picture.

  3. That's a lot of bread and pasta "on the hoof" (or it was anyway!)

I'm trying to remember if my 1960/70s era instamatic had any zoom ability at all - and I don't think it did - and I got lots of "empty field" shots -- I should have saved them - a lot of those fields aren't empty anymore - development (destruction) houses and way too many drug stores took their places.
